We are a counselling practice in Canterbury. Supervision happens online or by phone, so where you work does not matter.

If you practise in Canterbury or elsewhere in Kent, your supervisor works in the same area as you, alongside the same local services. If you are further away, supervision works in exactly the same way.

Who is clinical supervision at The Pickle Jar for?
Our clinical supervision is for qualified counsellors and psychotherapists in practice, and for counselling students who need supervision for a training placement. Sessions are one to one, online or by phone, so you can be based in Canterbury, elsewhere in Kent, or anywhere in the UK. Our supervisors are members of the BACP.
How much does clinical supervision cost?
Clinical supervision costs £65 for a 60-minute session. Students pay £45 per session if they are currently enrolled on a counselling or psychotherapy training course at a university or college. Both rates are for individual supervision online or by phone, and the session length is the same at either rate.
Why do counselling students pay less for supervision?
Counselling students need regular clinical supervision to meet their course and placement requirements, but placement work with clients is usually unpaid. Our student rate of £45 per 60-minute session, rather than £65, is there to make supervision more affordable while you train and build up your client hours.
Can I have clinical supervision online or by phone?
Yes. All our clinical supervision takes place online or by phone, and we do not currently offer supervision in person. That means you can work with a supervisor from The Pickle Jar wherever you practise, whether that is in Canterbury, elsewhere in Kent, or anywhere else in the UK.
Do you offer group supervision?
Not at the moment. All our clinical supervision is individual, one-to-one work between you and your supervisor, online or by phone. If you are looking for group supervision as part of a training course or placement, it is worth asking your course provider or placement organisation what they already arrange.

How do I arrange clinical supervision?

Fees
The initial assessment is £35 for 45 minutes. Ongoing sessions are £60 to £80 for 50 minutes.Full fees.
Sessions
Usually weekly, at a consistent time held for you, with 48 hours notice to cancel. There is no minimum number of sessions.
