About The Pickle Jar
Confidential one-to-one counselling and psychotherapy in central Canterbury, for adults and young people.
Cultivating well-being in Canterbury
The Pickle Jar was created as a place where anyone can feel comfortable seeking therapy.
We know the challenges of life can be complicated, and we try to make getting help as simple and as unintimidating as we can. There is no particular kind of person who comes here, and no threshold of difficulty you have to meet before you are entitled to talk to someone.
We work with adults and young people from 13, one to one, from a room on St Johns Lane in central Canterbury, and securely online across Kent.
How we think about this work
Most difficulties can be worked through with the right support, at the right pace, with someone who is genuinely on your side.
Therapy here is a relationship rather than a treatment programme. You are not a problem to be corrected, and you will not be moved through a set of stages on a schedule. The work goes where you need it to go.
- A place to explore what is worrying you
- Time to work out what actually helps
- Support to move in the direction you choose
- Professional standards you can check, and hold us to
